Virginia Assessment Parent Portal

The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) created the Virginia Assessment Parent Portal, allowing parents to view their child's test data from the Grades 3-8 Math and Reading Growth Assessments.  Botetourt County Schools has created the following video resource to help parents and guardians access and navigate this system.

May 2024 Update:

The VDOE has created a new Spring SOL Parent report to provide additional information about their child's performance.  The format is more clear and accessible and is designed to provide a year-long look at a student's academic progress.  It considers past Growth Assessment and recent SOL test results to show a student's academic progress trend, whether the student:

  • needs additional support,
  • is at risk of falling behind, or
  • is performing on grade level or above.

Sample parent reports are available for Grades 3-8 reading and math, and all other SOL tests (except writing)Additional resources for parents, including a video explaining the Spring Parent Reports and a tool for parents to help facilitate conversations with their child’s teacher regarding their child’s performance can be found on the Parent Resources page of the VDOE website under the Assessment tab.
