The Botetetourt County School Board recently approved a division cell phone policy (BCPS School Board Policy JFC-BR6, Cell Phones) to prevent distraction during instructional hours, and promote focused, respectful, and safe learning environments across all Botetourt County Public Schools. This policy governs the use of cell phones, smart devices, and any other personal electronic devices and provides clear expectations for the storage, use, and management of these devices within school settings.

Botetourt County Public Schools is excited to announce this year's division teacher of the year: Mr. Chris Caldwell! With nearly three decades of experience in education, Chris has spent the past 20 years sharing his passion for instrumental music with the Botetourt County community. Known for meeting students at their level and inspiring them to pursue excellence, he has become a trusted mentor and advocate for young musicians. Beyond the county, Mr. Caldwell extends his impact as a guest clinician and adjudicator for Honor Ensembles, District Bands, Marching Competitions, and State Assessments throughout the region and state. Congratulations, and thank you for the profound impact you have on our Lord Botetourt HS students and community!

Congratulations to the Central Academy MS students, staff, and community on being named a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School awardee by the U.S. Department of Education! This is a prestigious honor and a rare accomplishment, and is the second time in recent years a public school in Botetourt County has received the award.
