A five-member School Board is elected to represent each magisterial
district. Board members are elected to serve four-year terms.
Regularly
scheduled public meetings are held on the second Thursday of each
month. Meetings are held at the School Administration Building in
Fincastle at 6:30 p.m.
To communicate with the School Board, for
questions about Board procedures, or to arrange to address the Board,
call the Board clerk (540-473-8263).
The primary function of the
School Board is to develop policies- written statements of intent
guiding operation of the school program. The policies are placed in
manuals which are available online or upon request from any school.
The
chief executive officer of the Botetourt County School Board is the
Superintendent. His immediate staff includes Assistant Superintendent
for Instruction; Directors for Finance, Personnel, and Operations;
Supervisors for Instruction, Special Education, Transportation, and
Technology.
