Read Mountain Middle School celebrates National Agriculture Day

National Agriculture Day is Tuesday, March 19, and students at Read Mountain Middle School will celebrate with several activities throughout the week.

National Ag Day is meant to highlight the role agriculture plays in society.

Read Mountain FFA Chapter students will hand out facts about Virginia's top agriculture products.

Students will also read about agriculture to six different elementary schools throughout Botetourt County

The president of Read Mountain FFA Chapter Tess Seibel says agriculture is the future of the world. "By 2050 we're expected to have 9 billion people on earth. In order to feed and clothe them all, we're going to need agriculture," explained Seibel.
