BTEC Habitat for Humanities House

Botetourt Education Foundation, Botetourt County Public Schools, Botetourt Technical Education Center and Habitat for Humanity have teamed up to build a house for a local family.  The house is being built by Botetourt Technical Education Center (BTEC) students and will be given to Habitat for Humanity next fall.  The house is a 3 bedroom 2 bath modular house that is approximately 1350 sq. ft.  The students will build the house up to rough in stage which will include the plumbing and electrical.  The house will then be given to the Habitat for Humanity for placement.

This is an exciting opportunity for our students and Botetourt County.  The BTEC students will be able to complete all the Virginia Department of Education Building Trades Competencies while building the house.  Students will then realize a sense of pride and accomplishment when the house is handed over to the Habitat for Humanity and a deserving family.
