Botetourt County Public Schools recently completed a School Efficiency Review that was coordinated by the Virginia Department of Planning and Budget and conducted by MGT of America.
The school division efficiency review program, begun in 2004, is designed to identify ways that divisions can realize cost savings in non-instructional areas that can be redirected to classroom activities. Participation by school divisions is voluntary and involves contracting with outside education experts to perform the efficiency reviews. The findings include an evaluation of the efficiency of various offices and operations within a school division, recommendations and projected costs and/or savings associated with the recommendations. The Virginia Department of Planning and Budget (Virginia School Efficiency Review Program) is responsible for coordinating efficiency reviews.
The final report is available on this link and on the Virginia Department of Education website (School Finance > School Division Efficiency Reviews).
